I'm Yunfan, a Senior Software Engineer at HubSpot, working on the transcription pipeline behind call and meeting recordings. I have over 7 years of experience specializing in architectural design, system scalability, and technical leadership, building full-stack and backend systems with Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, React Native, and Ruby on Rails.

Since joining HubSpot in January 2026, I've led the recording-consent flow for the meeting notetaker, which unblocked its release in the EU under GDPR. I worked closely with legal, product, and design to shape the requirements, then built it end to end, from the data model and APIs to email reminders and a public consent page, and shipped it to every customer on a tight timeline.

I also led the move of our LLM transcript-cleanup step to a newer model, cutting cost per transcript by 32% at the same quality, backed by a 1,000+ case evaluation and a production cost scorecard. On the platform side, I designed a unified participants service for calls and meetings and moved 14 services across several teams onto it, and led a cross-team event migration that moved 10 downstream AI services to a new transcript event.

Before HubSpot, at Clari, I refactored a core API serving over 600,000 daily requests, cutting median latency by 50%, and built features such as Bulk Action Management, a Redis-based email/SMS scheduling system, and SAML-based Single Sign-On.

At Meta, I built mobile products and GraphQL APIs that let people cross-post fundraisers from Facebook to Instagram, increasing Instagram fundraiser creations by 20% and donations by 10%. I also led the end-to-end delivery of a name-change notification project with cross-functional and legal teams, and scoped audience filtering for over 20 million people across Facebook and Instagram.

Earlier, at EPAM Systems in Suzhou, I led a 5-person team on a project with over 200,000 daily active users, cut an e-commerce web app's load times by 52%, and built React Native features for a mobile app used by more than 4,000 stores across China.
